thanks for the night

I went for a walk around the neighborhood after church. I was feeling very discouraged and down while at church, not sure why, but the walk helped connect me with Jesus and calm me down.

I listened to the music of my past - country - and just stared at the stars as I walked. I am very grateful for how Jesus meets me with being outside. It's the main reason I started studying astronomy and why I teach it now.

I am now about to attempt to play Nickel Creek's "Jealous of the Moon" on my mandolin :)

I just read Psalm 77, it's kind of how it feels on nights like that, when you just need to sit under the stars and be reminded of how big God is.

Hey friend, right after I read your post I read this blog that I recently discovered: http://theologyforwomen.blogspot.com/

The post is called "Malaise"; I like it because it doesn't really give quick fixes, just talks about the feeling and the author's response. Anyway, thought you might like it if you get a chance...
