ps - while I don't agree with everything in these films, I think it's awesome that he made them and that it's starting conversation about our crappy public education system

Yes! Let the conversation START! I have been saying for years our system is going to implode if we don't start looking at education differently. I attended/worked in so many schools throughout the country, the biggest problem I see with the way we approach education is that it is not based in reality somehow- Veers so far in the performance and scores direction that it fails to address the "why?" Why do kids need to know such and such? Why will this be useful in the present and future? (THe way it is set up now often just keeps kids in a blinders on, perfom/regurgitate now, think later approach) Education should somehow connect who we are with where we want to go in life as a person and in society, not just as a student getting grades. I've always loved that you fight for your kids' educations and want things to change too.
